I’ll keep this bit relatively brief – I’m female, I live in London, and I love the cinema.
Rather than this site get too personal about me, I’m intending this blog to be about my own take on film and the whole cinema experince.
I’ll appreciate any feedback you might have – including if you disagree – I’m more than happy to admit I can be wrong!
Some of my favourite films – to give you an idea if you’ll agree with me or not:
Ghostbusters, Grosse Pointe Blank, Juno, The Rock, Layer Cake, Alien/Aliens, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Heathers, Infernal Affairs, The Princess Bride, Beetlejuice, The Godfather, Indiana Jones (original trilogy, the last outing was awful), Star Wars (original trilogy, although I have been known to voice the opinion that the Phantom Menace was not that bad), The Untouchables, Spinal Tap, Schindler’s List, Amelie, M, Metropolis, Blade Runner, Hero, House of Flying Daggers…I could go on. Infact I’ve probably forgotten something.
Last film I saw which disappointed me – Public Enemies. Mann, Depp and Bale – how was this film so uninvolving?
Last film I was which surprised me – Push. Surprisingly good ‘people with special abilities’ film – def worth a rent if you see it
Last film I saw I cried at – Up, and I defy anyone human to leave this film dry-eyed
PS – please forgive me any typos. I may be something of a spelling and grammar fanatic, but I am only human.
The Phantom Menace was rubbish, love.
I’m prepred to accept that, but it’s the last Star Wars I saw in the cinema where I got tingles at the opening music. Whether the fact I didn’t get the same feeling about Episodes 2 and 3 was because TPM had killed it off, of because the second two were dso dire, is a matter for some debate…
And thanks for being my first commentator!
